Why does My Luxeve support the NDIS?
We support the NDIS because it is a critical initiative that will help people with disabilities live fuller, more independent lives.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is Australia’s first ever nationally-funded disability insurance scheme. It provides people with disability with access to reasonable and necessary supports that they need to live their life the way they want. These supports can include things like therapies, aids and equipment, transport, and supports to help participants connect with their community.
The NDIS is a game-changer for people with disability and their families, and we are proud to support it.
What is the NDIS and what is the NDIA?
The NDIS, also known as a “disability insurance” program for people who are suffers from permanent or significant injuries. It’s designed to provide funding services and supports so that they can live their best lives possible despite any limitations caused by injury/ chronic illness in Australia. The independent agency overseeing all aspects will be called The National Disability Institute (NDI).
Who is the NDIS for?
It’s designed to help people with disabilities that are likely permanent and significant. You must also be under 65 years old or live in Australia (and have citizenship). People currently receiving state-funded specialist support services will transition over time onto their own private package of care through this new scheme – but please don’t worry!
What does the NDIS provide funding for?
The NDIS funds reasonable and necessary supports to help you reach your goals. For example, they can include accommodation/tenancy assistance so that an individual obtains or retains appropriate housing; supervision over daily living tasks like cooking meals etc., which focuses on developing skills for independent participation in social life as well economic activities – all this is done with a focus directed towards inclusive growth!
What supports are ‘reasonable and necessary’?
Supports must be reasonable and necessary. They should not include day-to-day living costs unrelated to your disability, nor did they previously serve as an adequate replacement for the informal supports provided by family members or community members who are raising you – but this will change with our new plan! We take into account all of these factors when creating a personalized support package just right for YOU:

What is the NDIS and How Can it help my Child?
A disability affects around 4.3 million Australians. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will give more than $22 billion in annual payments to an estimated 500,000 Australians with permanent and serious disabilities over the next five years. It will be the first time for many people to obtain the disability assistance they require.
All persons with disabilities can access the NDIS for information and connections to local services such as doctors, sporting clubs, support groups, libraries, and schools, as well as information about the support given by each state and territory government.

National: The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is being phased in throughout all states and territories. Disability: The NDIS assists people with intellectual, physical, sensory, cognitive, and psychosocial disabilities who are eligible. For qualifying persons with disabilities or children with developmental delays, early intervention supports can be provided. Insurance: The National Handicap Insurance Scheme (NDIS) gives all Australians peace of mind that if they, their child, or a loved one is born with or develops a lifelong and major disability, they will receive the assistance they require. Scheme: The NDIS is not a government-run assistance program. The NDIS is intended to assist people in receiving the assistance they require so that their abilities and independence grow over time. The NDIS will change the way people with disabilities gain access to the services they need to achieve their goals and fully engage in community life. The NDIS was created to assist persons who have a permanent and substantial handicap that limits their capacity to participate in daily activities. It accomplishes this by determining what disability supports a person requires in order to fulfil their life goals. Greater freedom, community involvement, education, job, and health and well-being are all possibilities. The NDIS allows people with disabilities more choice and control over how, when, and where their supports are delivered, as well as the assurance that they will receive the help they require throughout their lives. The NDIS also emphasises early intervention, which can help you or your child cope with the effects of disability. The NDIS also provides support to people who have a psychological disability. People with psychosocial disabilities have significant and long-term functional impairments as a result of mental health disorders. People must meet the access standards in order to participate in the NDIS. These are some of them: Having a long-term handicap that limits your capacity to participate in everyday activities Being under the age of 65 when you first apply for the scheme Holding a Protected Special Category Visa and being an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen It’s intended to assist people who have long-term and substantial disabilities. You must also be under the age of 65 and a resident of Australia (and have citizenship). The NDIS provides funding for reasonable and required services to assist you in achieving your objectives. For example, they can include housing or tenancy assistance to help an individual find or keep suitable housing; supervision of daily living tasks such as cooking meals, etc., which focuses on developing skills for independent participation in social and economic activities; and all of this is done with an eye toward inclusive growth. The assistance provided must be reasonable and essential. They should not include non-disability-related day-to-day living expenses, nor did they previously serve as a sufficient substitute for the informal support provided by family members or community members who are raising you.
